As we head into the holiday season, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) reminds residents of the requirements for the purchase and discharge of fireworks within the Northwest Territories (NWT).

Minister R.J. Simpson announced today the appointment of Erin Wagner as the new Public Trustee of the Northwest Territories, effective June 17, 2024. Ms. Wagner succeeds Ms. Renée Fougère, who held the position since last year.
The GNWT and RCMP are alerting the public that there will be a disruption to 9-1-1 Service for 15 minutes between 0100 and 0500 on Thursday February 29, 2024. People attempting to call emergency services may not be able to get through calling 9-1-1 for that 15 min period.
Notice: As the GNWT begins to transition to the recovery phase this will be the last daily update. Future updates will be issued when required.
